Screen Shot 2018-12-19 at 9.36.10 AM.pngMyEducation BC is used for viewing report cards and recording student attendance.

Report cards are posted electronically by PDF in the MyEducation (MyEd) BC Portal. Prior to the end of each reporting period, an email will be sent from the school informing parents/guardians when the report cards will be published online.

There are two types of accounts available in MyEd:

  1. Parent/guardian account: available to parents/guardians of students in the North Vancouver School District (NVSD). This account can see information for multiple students.
  2. Student account: only available to secondary students, where they can view their own information. Students are not able to record their own attendance.

MyEd is unavailable for parents/guardians and students during the month of August and first three weeks of September. Report cards must be downloaded before July 31 of the current school year, they will not be available to view or download after July 31. Summer Learning report cards will be available until the end of first week of August.

Please see below instructions on how to access a MyEd account if you are a new or returning student or parent/guardian.

If you would like to see more information on the reporting process, please visit Communicating Student Learning (report cards).

Setting up a new account:

After a student registers with the NVSD, new parents/guardians will receive an email from MyEducation BC. It will arrive from sysadmin@myeducation.gov.bc.ca. This email will include a temporary password. The email will arrive on either the 1st or the 15th of the month. Whichever date is next after completing the students registration.

The email will include the following information:

Managing existing accounts:

Login using this link: www.myeducation.gov.bc.ca. Bookmark the portal for quick access during the next reporting period. Do not search the internet for the portal as you may try to login to the incorrect database (there are several).

The username is your email address.

Passwords

MyEd account holders will be prompted to reset the password every three months (90 days) as per the regulations set out by the Ministry of Education and FIPPA (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act). After 90 days, you will be required to create a new password.

Click on ‘I forgot my password’ to be sent a temporary password to the email associated with the MyEd account. Ten unsuccessful password attempts will disable your account, you will need to wait for your account to be re-enabled. This may take a day during school office hours. Schools are closed on weekends, statutory holidays, during winter break, spring break and summer break after mid-July.

Instructions on how to reset passwords can be found here: MyEducation BC – How to reset your password.

BC Services Login

Once you’ve set up your permanent password, you can login to MyEd using a BC Services Card. For more information and how to set up the process, please visit the parent/guardian page or student page.

Technical Difficulties

If you are experiencing technical difficulties, try logging in with different web browsers such as Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Safari, or Opera. Try clearing your browser cookies, restarting your browser or your computer.

If the issue persists, please report them to the school office. If the school office is unable to assist, they will report the issues to the NVSD Information Communication and Technology (ICT) department. Expect up to 5 business days for ICT to report back to the school.

If you login and do not see a report card, it may be because you have logged in before the report card is published. Typically, the school posts the date they will publish. If it is after the publish date and the report is unavailable, contact the school.
