B.C. Binning

B.C. Binning was born in 1976 in Medicine Hat, Alberta to a family of architects. From the very earliest points of his career teaching at the Vancouver School of Art, Binning held the belief that art, architecture, and life were all innately connected. These themes dictated much of the art he created throughout the course of his career. His bold, architectural style of art made him a prominent figure in the development of Canadian art culture, and he was awarded membership as an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1971. Binning additionally helped found and headed the Department of Fine Arts at the University of British Columbia. His works are continually displayed across Canada.
