Toni Onley

​Toni Onley was born on the Isle of Man in England in 1928, where he began his studies in the fine arts at the Douglas School of Fine Arts. In 1948, he moved to Brantford, Ontario where he furthered his studies at the Doon School of Fine Arts and earned a scholarship at the Institute Allende in Mexico. ​​​Onley ​experimented with a variety of mediums throughout his works, including watercolour, collage, pencil, etchings and serigraphs. Among his many honours, Onley was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1999, and his works have been showcased in renowned galleries such as the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. ​
