Kwanzaa is an African American cultural holiday that is celebrated around the world. During Kwanzaa, people come together to celebrate African family, culture and community.

New Year’s Day is the date the new calendar year begins, according to the Gregorian calendar, which is the most widely used calendar system. Often, on the first day of the year, people take time to reflect and make New Year’s resolutions.
It is observed annually on January 1 and is a statutory holiday in British Columbia.
Initial registration for 2025/2026 Kindergarten (children born in 2020) runs from Tuesday, October 8 to Monday, January 6, 2024. Detailed instructions on the registration process, including forms and documentation required, is available on the Kindergarten web page.
Note: you will need to book an appointment to register your child.
Registrations received after January 6 will be placed according to the available space, facilities, resources, or the appropriate educational program required to meet the student's needs and parent/legal guardians place of residence.
