Project Update as of July 14, 2025

Construction of the 4 classroom addition to Westview Elementary is well underway. The project is unique due to the fact that the building superstructure will be pre-fabricated off-site. This process will significantly shorten the duration of construction.
A local North Vancouver contractor, Halse-Martin Construction Co. Ltd., has been retained as the General Contractor, responsible for overall construction of the addition. BC Passive House has been retained to pre-fabricate the superstructure in their Pemberton facility.
Upon completion of the concrete slab main floor, in late July, the pre-fabricated superstructure components will be delivered to site on a daily basis and erected by crane over a 3 week period, currently this is scheduled from August 5 to August 22.

Families in North Vancouver will have 100 more student spaces, part of government’s plan to expand schools faster.
“As we welcome more students to fast-growing communities like North Vancouver, we are finding better solutions to deliver more classrooms as quickly as possible,” said Rachna Singh, Minister of Education and Child Care. “This new expansion will serve students for decades to come.”
A new four-classroom prefabricated addition is coming to Westview Elementary school. The use of prefabricated materials means students will have modern learning environments, which include multiple classrooms that can be connected by corridors. The new classrooms are expected to be ready for students by fall 2025. With sustainable and energy-efficient designs, the additions also align with the Province’s CleanBC targets and meet B.C.’s enhanced energy requirements. >> Read more.
