The North Vancouver School District uses various technologies to execute business functions and to communicate with parents/guardians. The district is also committed to providing educational programming that embraces technology, while also maintaining privacy and safety. All of the technology systems used by the school district meet the requirements of the BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. All content is stored within Canada, the school district maintains full control of all content at all times, and each system has robust encryption and security measures in place. The school district has put into place additional security features within each system and has implemented privacy processes to ensure personal information is protected at all times.

MyEducation BC
MyEducation BC is a technology system designed and offered by the BC Ministry of Education. The system must be used by school districts to report enrolment information to the Ministry of Education. In the North Vancouver School District, the system is also used for daily attendance and report cards. Report cards are not printed; they are provided digitally through MyEducation BC. Some secondary schools also use the system for course selection.
Parents will receive an email from MyEducation BC with instructions about how to log in. Instructions are also available under the MyEducation BC tab in the lefthand side navigation. Accounts for new parents are created twice a month on the 1st and 15th of each month.
Please note that passwords in MyEducation BC must be reset every three months. This requirement is established by the Province of British Columbia. Thus, if a parent only logs in to see report cards three times a year, they will need to reset their password every time they log in.
SchoolCash Online
SchoolCash Online is an accounting system used by the North Vancouver School District. The parent interface of the software allows parents to pay for student items online, as well as to complete and return district and school forms. The system is voluntary, with parents setting up their own accounts.
SchoolMessenger
SchoolMessenger is a comprehensive communication system used by the North Vancouver School District to communicate with parents. The system is used to send emails, text messages and phone calls to parents. At the secondary school level, it is used to make daily attendance phone calls for missed classes. Emergency notifications, such as a school closure, are broadcast to parents through SchoolMessenger. The system also offers an app to parents that they can voluntarily download to their mobile devices to receive messages on their cell phones.
Microsoft 365
The North Vancouver School District uses Microsoft 365 to provide all students with an email account and seven gigabytes of online file storage for student documents. Students have unique secure logins and passwords. Microsoft 365 accounts are used for various educational purposes, such as students working collaboratively on Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote projects, and file sharing documents with teachers. Elementary school level accounts are restricted to emailing within the North Vancouver School District Microsoft 365 environment; emails from/to outside the North Vancouver School District are disabled.
School offices and teachers have the login information for their students. If parents/students do not receive the login information from their teacher(s)/school, they can request it from the school's office. Microsoft 365 also allows all students to download the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) on their home computers for free.
Scholantis Portal
The Scholantis Portal is a secured technology system that the North Vancouver School District uses as its internal intranet. While used primary with staff, all students also have an account on the Scholantis Portal. The student account is used for elementary school students' self-assessments of the core competencies. The Scholantis Portal can also be used by teachers for various educational purposes such as internal teacher websites used with students. The system is also used for broader elementary student portfolios by some teachers and schools. All students also have access to a Student Opportunities section within the Scholantis Portal where various community opportunities, such as youth leadership camps, jobs, volunteer opportunities, summer/spring break programs, and the like, are posted.

myBlueprint portal
myBlueprint is a secured web-based platform used by the North Vancouver School District at the secondary school level. Secondary school students' self-assessments of the core competencies are done through myBlueprint, as are student portfolios and career/course planning. Secondary students will receive their login information from their school careers teacher or school counsellor.
