We would like to welcome everyone back to Eastview for another school year! It has been a busy but exciting first week of school. The energy and enthusiasm over the first few days were wonderful and we look forward to a busy and productive school year. It has also been a very important week for our youngest learners as we welcomed our new Kindergarten students who started Wednesday with a gradual entry schedule.
Family Groupings:
Students in grades 1 to 7 had the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities to help prepare them for the coming school year. They worked on goal setting, identifying what makes Eastview a great school, learning a school song, creating a paper T shirt, hearing a story called "You Hold Me Up" and trying out Tai Chi. Fun was had by all.
Welcome Back Assembly:
Eastview had its first assembly this past Thursday. It was an opportunity to introduce all of our staff members and welcome everyone back for another year. We also had the opportunity to review our school's code of conduct and share in a song about our school. We were impressed by everyone's participation. It is a song we will definitely be singing more often in the future!
Guest Speaker:
Today we had the privilege of hearing a very inspiring guest speaker, Mr. Michael Bortolotto. Mr. Bortolotto spoke about the importance of friendship, acceptance, and celebrating one another's differences. His personal stories and engaging manner definitely made for a memorable talk.
We hope everyone has a relaxing and enjoyable weekend!
