Shape of the Day for Tuesday, September 3, 2024:
​8:45 am - 8:55 am
​Grade 8s arrive and meet Student Leaders in the in the Grand Commons 
​9:00 am
​Grade 8 Assembly in Theatre 
​9:30 am
​Grade 8 Homeroom (Student Schedules, Locks/Locker Information, Blank Timetable, Demographic Verifications, Grade 8 Retreat Forms etc.)
​10:00 am
​School Photos in Gym (No hats or face coverings permitted)

​​​Grade 7 Student Introd​​uction to Secondary School Handsworth Orientation Thursday, May 23, 20​​​24

​• 9:00am – 9:25am: Arrival at Handsworth in Grand Commons/Cafeteria with student leaders; find name tag/group #

• 9:30am – 9:45am: Introduction and Welcome in Theatre 

• 9:50am – 10:10am: Activity #1

• 10:20am – 10:30am: Break

• 10:35am – 10:55am: Activity #2

• 11:00am – 11:20am: Activity #3

• 11:20am – Everyone meet back in outdoor classroom space behind Library Learning Commons for goodbye and snack 

• 11:30am – Dismissal from Handsworth 

* Students are welcome to bring money to purchase something at the cafeteria. There is NO food or drink allowed in the Theatre.
Students are asked to come prepared with some paper, a pen, snack and a water bottle.

Grade 7 Parent/Guardian Information Evening

Parents and Guardians (only) of current grade 7s are invited to attend.  This meeting is designed to provide information about the Handsworth Grade 8 course offerings and programs available.

Grade 7 Learning Services Open House

Monday, May 27, 2024 at 6:00PM 


This evening is designed to provide information about the supports available at Handsworth and is specific to parents of students who may benefit from additional supports in their grade 8 year to reinforce classwork and develop learning and self management skills. These students were recommended through the articulation meetings with elementary school teams.
