ββββββββThe active involvement of parents in a volunteer role has the potential to provide considerable benefit to the intellectual and social development of students. In addition, the participation of volunteers increases communication and positive relationship between the school, parents, and the community. Consequently, the Board supports and encourages the use of volunteers to support the work of employees. All volunteers at Montroyal are governed under the provisions of NVSD Policy 404: Volunteers in Schools and NVSD Policy 506: Employee Code of Conduct.
All prospective volunteers must successfully complete the NVSD screening procedure before beginning any volunteer activities with students. Once approved by the school administrator, volunteer applications and associated paperwork will remain valid for five years.
For those volunteers who are helping in classrooms, on field trips or with sports, we have a few steps to follow prior to your volunteer work beginning. These steps refer to non-PAC coordinated events or activities. If a Montroyal staff member requests for volunteers, we will ask volunteers to:
- Complete the Criminal Record Check (Click here for the link to the CRC information)
- Complete the Volunteer Application Form (see below)
- Complete the Confidentiality Declaration (see below)
- If being asked to drive, complete the Volunteer Driver Application Form and the steps outlined on the form (see below).
New volunteers are asked to email our office staff at the Montroyal Main Office (montroyal@sd44.caβ) to arrange a time for an initial interview with a school administrator.
All completed forms can be dropped off with office staff or emailed to montroyal@sd44.caβ.
