Global Perspectives
Sutherland Secondary School’s Global
Perspectives Program is designed to enrich students’ understanding of global
affairs by fostering engagement in the interconnectivity of economic, political,
environmental, and social systems. Based on a model of experiential learning,
during this semester-long cohort students earn credit for Social Studies 11, English 11, Social Justice 12, and Economics 12. Global issues curriculum is
interwoven throughout the four courses, with an emphasis on field studies to
ensure students’ learning extends beyond the classroom.
