Attention all students Grades 8 to 12 - Mandatory Homeroom on Tuesday November 26th at 8:30am

On Tuesday November 26th, there will be a mandatory homeroom for all students Grades 8 to 12 during

tutorial time to complete a self-reflection of the core competencies. This process is one of the tenets of

the K-12 Reporting Order which requires that student self-reflection on core competencies be included

in multiple written learning updates each year.

Core Competencies is a term for a group of important skills (Thinking, Communication, Personal and

Social Responsibility). Students use and develop these skills in all of their classes, as well as in clubs,

sports, the community and at home. Noticing these skills, reflecting on their development of these

skills, and then setting goals to grow these skills is important.

Students are expected to attend homeroom at 8:30 am where they will engage in a school wide goal

setting activity. Students are asked to bring their cell phone or laptop to homeroom to complete the

activity through an MS Form.
