The Senior Boys basketball team won the AAA basketball Championship this weekend against STMC 66-58. The First Senior Boys Basketball championship in school history.
The Juvenile Girls Basketball team had a historic season, going a perfect 29-0, winning all four tournaments they entered (including a grade 10 tournament), and finally winning the Provincial Championship.
Wesley Baker-Billy, Grade 10, is creating a traditional cedar strip canoe in his Woodwork class here at Windsor Secondary. Wes is working under the mentorship of Mike Billy, a traditional canoe carver and relative, and supervision of Mr. Alex Van Samang. Mike Billy is a 7th generation skwxwu7mesh canoe carver who is creating a fleet of dugout and cedar strip canoes for local First Nations, while teaching Windsor staff and students about the traditions, tools and techniques. The projects serve as a multi-generational and multicultural opportunity for learning about traditional skwxwu7mesh ways regarding the canoe and its significance to the Squamish way of life.
