We chose this important goal because early learning experiences establish the learning foundation for all learning K - 12. Read about the beautiful kindergarten room under the Parent Tab in Celebrating Early Learning at Carisbrooke.
Carisbrooke honours the many contributions of Métis, First Nations, and Inuit people with a display, created by staff member, Carla Matilpi. We welcome you to come by and learn about artists Bill Reid and Robert Davidson, politician Murray Sinclair, actors Tantoo Cardinal and Chief Dan George, and BC's First Nations First Lady, Amelia Douglas. We hope students will learn to appreciate how much these individuals ( and many more) enrich the lives of all Canadians.

National Indigenous Veterans Day honours the thousands of Indigenous peoples who served overseas during the First World War, Second World War and Korean War. On the home front, Indigenous communities donated money and worked for the war industry. Despite their contributions and sacrifices, Indigenous peoples remained marginalized.
National Indigenous Veterans Day was established in Winnipeg in 1994; it is observed annually on November 8.
