Seymour Heights procedure for Bear Safety:
- we check the perimeter of the school grounds before recess and lunch breaks
- if a bear sighting is reported close to the school grounds during school instruction, we monitor the area. If needed, we make an announcement to teachers to stay inside for gym or instruction until the bear has left the area.
- if there is concerns about the bear's activity we call the conservation officers.
- we have the Black Bear Society visit classrooms and discuss bear safety
Please help us keep the area safe from and for our local bears!
