The North Vancouver School District will offer dual credit programs for grade 12 students in the fields of Health Care Assistants and Medical Laboratory Assistants for a variety of compelling reasons:

• These programs allow student to begin their post-secondary education while still in high school, giving them a head start on their careers.  This is particularly beneficial in high demand fields like healthcare.
• There is a strong demand for Health Care Assistants and Medical Laboratory Assistants in BC.
• Dual credit programs cover tuition costs making higher education more affordable for students and their families.
• Students gain valuable skills and hands-on experience in their chosen field, which can enhance their employability and readiness for the workforce.
  
• May provide an alternative path to higher educational aspirations in health care.
  

Overall, dual credit programs are designed to support students' educational and career goals while addressing the needs of the job market in BC. ​

Vancouver Community College will reserve two high school seats for each of the two programs per year.
