On October 24-25, the First Nations’ Emergency Services Society of BC (FNESS) hosted 24 enthusiastic students at its third annual Firefighting Bootcamp on the North Shore.

October 16th was field trip day for 43 metalwork students in grade 10-12 from Sutherland Secondary school.  Students attended the TradesExpo in Surrey with the intention to explore career paths, training options, and to acquire hands-on experience by trying out various trades at the exhibition Trades Expo (trades-expo.ca)  The field trip was sponsored by North Vancouver School District's Innovative Grants Program for Career Development.        ​​

From October 7-10, excitement buzzed through classrooms at Cove Cliff, Brooksbank, Larson, and Lynn Valley Elementary Schools as grade 4-7 students rolled up their sleeves and dove into hands-on trades workshops.
