West Unified Communication Services Canada, the provider of SchoolMessenger solutions, is committed to safeguarding the privacy and security of customer information. The personal information within the SchoolMessenger system is provided to SchoolMessenger by the North Vancouver School District, in accordance with BC privacy legislation and the BC School Act.

SchoolMessenger only acts as authorized by the school district to deliver services to and on behalf of the the school district. The personal information within SchoolMessenger continues to be the property of, and maintained under the direct control of, the North Vancouver School District. Data is located in Canadian datacenter facilities using industry standard access control protections.

SchoolMessenger maintains a comprehensive set of security practices that are designed in accordance with commercial best practices to protect the security, privacy, confidentiality, and integrity of personal information through the use of administrative, technological, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Access to personal information is limited to employees as needed to deliver the service.
